Photo of the Week: Project & Supply Chain Management students tour Aldi

More than 30 students from Project and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) courses at Penn State Lehigh Valley toured the ALDI Distribution Center on Apr. 12. ALDI is a privately held supermarket which is growing rapidly in the U.S.Mark Capofari, lecturer in Supply Chain Management, and his class, were joined by Maung K. Min, assistant teaching professor and director of business programs, for the tour.  “We talk about warehousing, 库存管理, procurement and other concepts/practices in our class. These tours provide a practical tutorial. We take the book and make it come to life,” said Capofari. This tour has been a part of Capofari’s class for more than five years.卡拉哈维, '93, director of warehousing and logistics for Aldi, led the students on the tour and explained the Aldi concept and details on distribution.  “I liked their product flow and set-up on the floor,桑迪普·考尔说, PSCM major at Penn State Lehigh Valley who attended the tour.希瑟王, '16, district manager for Aldi, presented information to students about internship opportunities with Aldi.  “It’s great to see PSU-LV students. Not that long ago I was in Professor Capofari’s class,” said Wong.  She completed her first two years at PSU-LV and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from SMEAL School of Business. Wong interned at ALDI over a summer, which led to her working full-time as a professional. As a District Manager, she now leads 60 employees.“We want to build a partnership with our neighbor ALDI, and will invite them to campus in the near future,闵说.
