Every November for the past several years, the Office of Student Affairs spearheads the Annual Penn State Lehigh Valley Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown. This year our efforts will help feed 47 families residing at the shelter. This community service project is a true collaborative effort between our students, faculty and staff.Each of our clubs and organizations donates a specific type and amount of canned or boxed goods. One of our student groups, the LAN club, goes above and beyond each year, donating over 100 canned items.

Students, who have received scholarships, shared the impact scholarships have had on them, and donors shared the reasons behind why they give.

Penn State Lehigh Valley faculty, staff and students visited Machu Picchu on Sept. 27 as part of the International Food and Entrepreneur Series. The next one is on Oct. 24 at Maza Middle Eastern Cuisine.

It can be upsetting to think about people in our community being hurt. But awareness is critical to changing outcomes and eventually changing the culture altogether. If you see something, say something.
